The Sancerre wine region is located 200 km south of Paris on the left bank of the Loire River. The vineyards stretch over 2770 hectares, spread over 14 wine-growing districts. The Dezat family is one of the oldest winegrower families in Sancerre. It can be found in the archives as early as 1550. André Dezat took over the family vineyard in 1948 and was actively involved in the promotion of Sancerre wines. In the 1970’s, his sons Louis and Simon joined him. The estate is being modernized with its new facilities, it is gaining new momentum, particularly in the production of Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé wines. More recently, Arnaud and Firmin Dezat, the grandsons, made their entry into the family business. Since 2006, the André Dezat estate has produced wines from Menetou Salon, another famous wine from the Loire Centre.
