Founded in 1994, Lapostolle is one of the most dynamic and influential wine producers in Chile. It is owned by the Marnier-Lapostolle family (of Grand Marnier fame) and since its inception they have pursued an uncompromising approach to quality. In the creation of Lapostolle their objective has been simple: to create world-class wines using French expertise and the superb terroirs of Chile.
The Lapostolle winery is located near the town of Santa Cruz in the Colchagua Valley. It is the original winery where Lapostolle was founded in 1994 and is where their Cuvée Alexandre, Lapostolle and Borobo wines are currently produced. The vineyard holdings consist of three vineyards, each in a different region and each chosen specifically for its affinity to certain grape varieties: San José de Apalta from Colchagua Valley; Atalayas from Casablanca Valley; and Las Kuras from the Cachapoal Valley
The Grand Selection Merlot displays an expressive nose of red and black fruits such as blackberry along with fresh aromas such as thyme and black pepper. The palate is medium bodied with great balance and fruit expression.
