Vines are classified as “A”, the best in the Douro Valley, planted on terraces in Vale de Mendiz at the Pinhão River
Valley. The acidic and schist soil with stone is located at an altitude of 250 to 350 meters. The average age of the
vines is over 30 years old.
Vinification: The best grapes are carefully selected when harvested and again at the winery. Alcoholic fermentation is at a controlled temperature and fortified with local brandy at 77%. Ageing: In stainless steel vats.
Tasting notes: Elegant bouquet with red fruit notes and peppery spices. A lovely and elegant long finish is enhanced by wonderful depth of flavour and lingering forest fruit.
Serving suggestions: Serve from 12ºC to 14ºC. Excellent accompaniment for strong cheeses as well as all sorts of
desserts based on chocolate, preferably dark.
