Based in the Marlborough Region, te Pā has a history stemming back almost 800 years. Set up by the MacDonald family whose Maori lineage goes back to 1350, the te Pā estate spreads over 400Ha of vineyards in Marlborough’s Wairau and Awatere regions. Nestled between the Wairau River and the azure waters of the Cook Strait, te Pā’s home block vineyard at the Wairau Bar is as majestic as it is productive.
The fruit for this Rosé was sourced from three complementary vineyards sites located in Marlborough’s Central and Southern Wairau Valleys. These vineyards were selected for their vibrant fruit expression and soft, silky tannin profiles.
With its beautiful pale salmon colour, hints of copper hues, this Rosé is a sophisticated, crisp and easy drinking wine. Initial aromatics of candied peach, strawberries and florals, are supported by some subtle base notes of spice and musk. On the palate this wine displays bright primary fruit, refreshing acidity and a medium body. The sweetness of fresh strawberries, cotton candy, and cranberry is contrasted by a lovely vein of anise and spice.
