Vine growing couple Jose Maria Garcia and Milagros Figuero have dedicated their lives to their family vineyards, and were key to establishing the DO Ribera del Duero as a high quality wine region by supplying Tempranillo grapes to the regions best wineries. In the late 1990s, Jose and Milagros decided to produce their own wines, and after constructing their winery at La Horra they released the first Tinto Figuero vintage in 2001
Figuero’s Four Months In Barrel is a clean and bright wine, with an intense cherry-red color and blue highlights, signifying good ripeness. Aromas of red and black fruits such as blackberries, red cherries and redcurrant are predominant, with elegant notes of black licorice and pepper, all well- integrated with the oak. The palate is powerful and long, showing good structure, balanced acidity and rounded, sweet tannins. It has a long, lingering finish.
